Location, Location, Location
Subtropical by latitude, almost the Southernmost
point in the U.S. (except for Key West which is west of us) and
only a few air miles from the major metropolitan cities of the
entire country by longitude. Close to Miami International Airport
for business or family matters.

Security
Over $4,500,000 is spent annually for 24 hour front
gate surveillance, roving patrol, water patrol, professional firefighters
and paramedics and ambulance corps. Ocean Reef occupies 4000 acres
which make up the Northern tip of Key Largo effecting the utmost
security possible.
Natural Amenities
Incomparable, due to being next to the only living
reef in the United States. This natural wonder, just three miles
offshore provides some of the best scuba diving and snorkeling
to be had! Really, a world unto itself. The fishing is unparalleled
for the great variety of game and sport fishing. This includes
reef fish including the Snapper and Grouper family, Sailfish,
Marlin, Kingfish, Wahoo and Dolphin fish found in the Gulf Stream,
just 6 miles offshore. In addition, inshore and bay waters include
Bonefish, Tarpon and Permit as well as Trout and Snook all in
abundance.

Exclusivity
Captains of industry have homes at the Ocean Reef Club.
Many of them are among the over 100 members and former members of the
Young Presidents Organization. Sponsorship is
required and a thorough background check is made prior to membership
being extended. A review committee is available to non-sponsored
applicants.

Weather
Winter lasts from 3 days to two weeks. It consists
of having to wear a sweater and a windbreaker which interferes
terribly with fishing, golf, swimming, tennis and croquet. It
causes a lot of griping among the members until one turns on the
TV and sees how much worse it is up north.

Manmade Amenities
Most communities have similar amenities, but none
have the combination of all of the features already mentioned.
Other communities must rely on these alone without the added advantage
of the above. Ocean Reef has two distinctly different 18 hole
golf courses, a championship croquet court, many tennis courts,
a world class marina, Spa, Inn, seven different food venues range
from a Raw Bar to the Carysfort, the former being the most casual
and the latter being the gourmet restaurant with dark paneled
bar and the exquisite wine room. Also, the 300 seat Cultural Center
featuring class entertainment such as Tony Bennet, Willy Nelson, Bob Newhart. Also first run movies and world class lectures.
